Abstract: Objective To evaluate the effect of 2nonyl1,3dioxolane,a penetration enhancer,on in vitro permeation of diclofenac gel.Method The in vitro skin permeation experiment was conducted by using modified Franz diffusion cell. Acetate solution (pH3.0)methanol (70∶30) was used as mobile phase and the detection wavelength was set at 284 nm. Result and Conclusion The optimal concentration of 2nonyl1,3dioxolane for higher percutaneous absorption of diclofenac gel was 2.0%,suggesting that 2nonyl1,3dioxolane is a potent penetration enhancer.
