Studies on the Anti-rheumatism Fraction from Urtica fissa
Abstract:ObjectiveTo study the antirheumatism fraction in Herba Urticase, and to provide theoretic basis for its further exploitation and utilization.MethodsDifferent fractions were isolated by extraction with different polar solvents,i.e .petroleum,diethy1 ether,ethy1 acetate and aqua. These fractions were screened by antiinflammatory and analgestic experiments. The inhibition of auricle edema induced by xylene and pain caused by hot board and acetic in mice was used to test the anti-rheumatism effect.ResultsFour fractions were isolated from Urtica fissa, among which ethy1 acetate part had obvious antiinflammatory and analgestic effects. It could inhibit the ear edema induced by xylene, granuloma induced by cotton ball and pain caused by hot borad and acetic acid in mice.ConclusionThe extraction of ethy1 acetate is the active part with anti- rheumatism effect in Urtica fissa.
