Effects of Guanxinkang Capsules on Nitric Oxide and Endothelin in Myocardium Damaged Rats Induced by Acute Myocardial Ischemia
Abstract:ObjectiveTo evaluate the role of nitric oxide (NO) and endothelin ( ET) in the protective effect of Guanxinkang Capsules in myocardium damaged rats. Methods30 male wistar rats were randomly divided into 3 groups, control group ( n= 10 ) , acute myocardial ischemia group ( n = 10) and Guanxinkang Capsules group ( n= 10 ) . During the experiment , electrocardiography and serum CK,CKMB and LDH were compared among the 3 groups. The levels of NO and ET in serum , myocardium were also measured. ResultsThe rising degree of STT obviously decreased in acute myocardial ischemia rats treated with Guanxinkang Capsules. The levels of serum CK,CKMB and LDH , all decreased compared with model group (P<0. 01).In addition , the NO levels in serum and myocardium increased significantly , while the ET level in myocardium markedly decreased compared with model group ( P<0. 05) .ConclusionGuanxinkang Capsules can effectively ameliorate the myocardium injury induced by acute myocardial ischemia increase NO and decrease ET. The changes of NO and ET may play a role in the pathogenesis and progress of myocardial injury.
