Abstract:ObjectiveTo study the effects of ZGC on cardiac function in experimental animal model of dilated cardiomyopathy induced by adriamycin in SD rats and explore its possible mechanism. MethodsThe SD rat model of dilated cardiomyopathy were fed ZGC for two weeks which was established at a dose of 2mg/kg once a week by Adriamycin intraperitoneally injected. In order to evaluate the effects of ZGC on SD rat models of dilated cardiomyopathy, transthoracic echocardiography was performed in the experimental group SD rats after 2 weeks therapy of feeding ZGC to measure left ventricular dimensions and calculate ejection fraction. 2 weeks later, left ventricular slices of animal model were processed for histologica staining.ResultsCompared with the control group , LVEF、BW、HR increased significantly(P<0.01)and LVED、DD、SD were smaller and FS were larger than those of control(P<0.05), whereas LVES in DCM rats of feeding ZGC decreased sharply(P<0.01)by transthoracic echocardiography measurement. The levels of serum angiotensin(AngⅡ),serum endothelin(ET)and serum atrial natriuretic peptide(ANP) were lower than those of control. The cardiac myocyte hypertrophy, degeneration and fibrosis were relieved accompanied with therapy of ZGC.ConclusionZGC has therapeutic effect on animal model of dilated cardiomyopathy and thus offers considerable newer therpeutic technologies.
